How to enter county tour competitions

Any boy or girl  age 6 to 13 can be entered by an adult member of UK Kids Golf into county tour competitions. Entry into the Regional Finals and Grand Final is by qualification only - please see "The Route to the Grand Final".

You must be a member to enter a player(s) in a competition

To enter a player into a county tour competition you must be a member of UK Kids Golf and over the age of 18. Members will normally be the parent or guardian of a player. To become a member you simply complete the “Join Here” membership form and make an annual membership fee payment of £5. You can become a member at any time during the year. All UK kids Golf memberships are annual and run from 1st April through to 31st March.

Booking a place at a competition

All competitions must be booked online via the UK Kids Golf website. Take a look at the upcoming competitions. Bookings cannot be made via the post, over the telephone, direct with the competition venue or any other way other than online via the website.

What is the cost?

The entry fee into any individual county tour competition is £10 per player. If your player(s) qualifies for a place in a Regional Final the entry fee is £30 and if he/she qualifies for the Grand Final the entry fee is £40.

First come, first served

Acceptance into a competition is on a first come, first served basis. The earlier you book a competition the better chance you have of getting in. The number of places at each competition venue varies and all competition listings show the number of places remaining at each venue. It is possible for a competition to fill up before the booking deadline date.

Booking deadline

Each competition has a booking deadline associated with it, which can be found on each competition listing. The deadline is established in order to confirm the number of players taking part with the golf course, print certificates, and set up tee times for the competition.

If your player(s) have qualified and been invited to play in a Regional Final or Grand Final, if you have not confirmed your place by paying the relevant entry fee by the booking deadline then your player(s) place may be offered to another player(s).

If you have missed the booking deadline for a county tour competition and spaces are still available you can make a late entry request - see next section.

Late entry request

An entry is considered late after the online registration for that competition has closed. If the competition is full, you can email us and you will be put on a waiting list for that competition. All late entry requests must be received no later than 12noon four days before the competition date. You will be contacted immediately if a place becomes available, and we will contact people on the waiting list up until the day before the competition. Email admin@ukkidsgolf.co.uk with the following:

  • Member’s name
  • Player’s name
  • Age group
  • Name of county tour
  • Competition venue
  • Competition date

Submitting a late entry request does not guarantee a place in the competition.

Please note, no late entries will be accepted after the late entry deadline has passed. You must be an existing UK Kids Golf member to be considered for late entry.

Withdrawing from a competition

In order to withdraw from a competition before it begins, you must email admin@ukkidsgolf.co.uk with the following:

  • Member’s name
  • Player’s name
  • Age group
  • Name of county tour
  • Competition venue
  • Competition name and date
  • Reason for withdrawal

Please do not contact the competition venue to withdraw from a competition.

Once play begins at a competition, withdrawal for any reason other than illness, injury or family emergency may result in suspension from playing in any county tour competitions, regional or grand final for the period of one year.

Refund policy

A full refund will be given if we receive notice of withdrawal from a competition at least 14 days prior to competition date. Half the competition entry fee will be refunded if notice is received later than 14 days and later 7 days prior to the competition date. No refunds will be given if notice is received less than 7 days prior to a competition unless caused by a medical or family emergency. Verification such as note from a doctor will be required. All refunds will be issued after the event has been held. There are no refunds for weather related shortened tournaments.

All competition entry fees for competitions postponed due to inclement weather will automatically be transferred to the rescheduled date.  If the event is not rescheduled or you are not able to attend the rescheduled date, a full refund will be given.  Please contact UK Kids Golf if you are not able to attend the rescheduled date.

The £5 UK Kids Golf annual membership fee is nonrefundable.
