Children’s golf can be an intensely competitive game. We recognise that the aim of some parents that enters their son and/or daughter into this arena is to find the next UK or even world number 1, but the real trick is to make sure that the children and the parents don’t lose sight of the fun during golf competition, while at the same time managing to stay focused on the end game.
UK Kids Golf UK is an organization that has been set up to provide the right environment for budding golfers who are interested in golf competition. An environment that will provide the competitive arena playing some excellent golf courses across the UK, where the children can express themselves and hone their golfing talents amid an atmosphere of friendly competition.
Here at UK Kids Golf UK, we not only focus on our young charges, but we also provide pro golf competition advice and support for the parents and guardians too. For the kids we aim to make sure above all else that they enjoy their golf, but it can be harder on the parents or guardians who are not only keen to see their youngsters develop into world class golfers, but who must somehow also learn to curb their determination for fear of ruining the experience of their children through their own over exuberance.
At UK Kids Golf UK we take on any youngsters up to the age of 14. We do not coach, we facilitate. We appreciate that golf and golf competition can be an expensive game, even for children. That’s why we are a non-profit making organisation. We are delighted to have the Golf Foundation as our nominated charity. We aim to ensure that we recover our costs, and all monies are ploughed back into the golf competition and online information resource to perpetuate a facility that provides a quality training ground for children’s golf competition.
Not all children are going to be the next Tiger Woods or Annika Sorenstam, so UK Kids Golf Competition in the UK is here for any child. We organise competitions across the UK for children between the ages of 6 and 13, and young golfers of all calibres are welcome to compete, whether or not they have an official handicap. All of our young golfer competitions are targeted towards entry into our national grand final, and to qualify for a place, young golfers must win their local competition or an order of merit.
There are some great prizes up for grabs including rounds of golf competition at the world famous Wentworth golf course, and entry into the children’s European finals. To find out more about the local tournaments in your area all you need to do is to log on to our website at www.ukkidsgolf.co.uk
